Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my family and friends!  Have a good, fun and safe day today, especially to all you drivers out there.

Yesterday I picked up a load in Duncan, SC and it is going to Rome, NY for a Friday afternoon delivery.  I could be there tonight if they would let me deliver it Friday morning, but since I can’t I plan to stop in Binghamton, NY at the T/A.  I’m starting my day off in Dublin, VA.  I’ll be in VA, WV, MD, PA, and NY today.

Our company (ATS) is reimbursing us for our Thanksgiving dinners.  That is very kind of them.

Making my delivery in Grand Rapids, MI

Good Morning,

I’m at my delivery in Grand Rapids, MI.  It shouldn’t take much over an hour to do.  I still do not have my next load assignment so no idea where to next.  Because of Thanksgiving day this week I need to get a good paying load that delivers this week.  I will probably only get one more load on this weeks check, maybe 2, and this is my house rent check.

Continuing on to Grand Rapids, MI

Good morning!

Today I’m starting my day from Matthews, MO,  I’ll be traveling through MO, IL, IN and finishing in Grand Rapids, MI tonight.  If any of my friends want to drive that far to visit I’ll help with the cost of the fuel, just it costs way to much (approx $200) to drive my tractor trailer that far for just a few hours visit.  Get in touch with me via phone or FB if you want to visit.

I’ll be getting in my 34 hour reset that I desperately needed.  So Monday I’ll be starting off with all my hours again.

From Houston, TX to Grand Rapids, MI

Good morning to all of my family and friends,

Today I’m waking up in Cleveland, TX just outside of Houston.  Yesterday was a rough day.  Nothing went as planned.  I should have been able to make it out of Texas if all had gone right, but here I sit still just about 40 miles out of Houston.  I was supposed to make my delivery at 8am.  Well it ended up not being done getting unloaded till after noon.  Then I showed up to p/u my load in Houston at 1:20.  Well according to my company I was supposed to be there by 1:00, but no I wasn’t late, I was a day early according to the shipper.  They loaded me, but made me wait till everyone else was loaded.  I spent 6 hours there.  That really messed up my day and plans.  I had hoped to meet up with some friends in the Detroit area of Michigan, but since I’m a day behind now I don’t get to fellowship with my great friends who were so understanding of the problem.  Well enough ranting for now.  Now I need to get enough fuel to get me to a T/A where I will fill up.

Oh ya,  I’ll be going through Texas, Arkansas, and Missouri today.

Everyone stay safe and have a wonderful day!

From South Carolina to North Carolina to Texas

Good morning to all of my wonderful family and friends.  After making my delivery yesterday morning I ended up sitting at the truck stop for a few hours before getting assigned a load that I pick up today in Statesville, North Carolina.  The load will deliver Thursday morning in Pasadena, Texas which is a suburb of Houston.  Today I should be going through, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama.  I’m not sure if I will make it all the way to Mississippi or not.  That depends on how the day is going and how many of my hours I have left to drive.

Arrived at FujiFilms in Greenwood, SC

Good Morning to all my family and friends,

This morning I’m at FujiFilms in Greenwood, SC making my delivery of 34 big rolls of film (not yet photographic film).  I picked this load up Saturday afternoon in Homer, LA.  For this load I followed I-20 through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and into Atlanta, Georgia.  In Atlanta I took I-85 for a short ways and then took US and State Routes the rest of the way through Georgia and South Carolina.

After my delivery here I still do not have my next load, but I do know that before December 15th I have to take my annual saftey meeting in either Gary, IN or St. Cloud, MN.  We get better loads usually from St Cloud so hopefully I’ll get my meeting done there.

Everyone have a safe and blessed day.

CA to LA

Today I make my delivery in Opelousas, LA at 7am.  I picked up this load on Monday in Vacaville, CA.  I have only 11 pallets of bicycles, so it shouldn’t take to long to get unloaded once they start, but we are talking about WalMart so maybe a bit longer then normal.  I’ve already been assigned my next load that will pick up in Homer, LA by 3pm.

Continuing on to CA

Good morning my friends and family,

Today I will continue on to CA.  I’m Starting the day off near Peoria, IL and will be going through Illinois, Iowa, and parking in Nebraska today.

I’m trying out my new 12v coffee pot today with some Dunkin Donuts Cinnamon Spice coffee.  The one thing I know for sure is it is slow.  It takes about 15 min. for on 16oz cup of coffee to brew.  What I don’t know yet is how much coffee to use.  Today I tried 2 scoops for the 16oz.  We’ll see how it tastes and adjust from there.

California here I come!

Good morning friends and family!  Right now I’m sitting in Brookville, PA.  I picked up my current load in Perth Amboy, NJ and it is going to Fairfield, CA.  That is approximately 3000 miles.  It is set to deliver on Monday, but I’m hoping if I can make it there by Friday that I can deliver it then.

Today I’ll be traveling through Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and parking for the night in Illinois.  I’m hoping to find a WalMart that has room for my truck to park as well as the time to stop.  I need to do a little bit of grocery shopping.  If there happens to be an IHOP close enough to walk to I will also try to take the time to have my favorite breakfast (their blueberry pancakes) to celebrate my birthday!  I should be pulling out of here at about 8:15.

Deliver in Ramsey, NJ Today

Good Morning Family and Friends,

This morning it is about 25 degrees out.  BRRRRR!!!  I forgot how bad the cold messes up batteries.  Last night I woke up to no electricity in my truck.  I can usually sit for at least 12 hours before the emergency cut off kicks in, but not when it’s cold.  I had only been in bed for about 6 or 7 hours when it must have cut off.  Good thing the truck has the emergency cut off so I could still start the truck.  I need to break out my winter coat instead of my spring jacket.  Haven’t done so yet, but I think I will today.  Sunshine seems to like the snow and cold.

Today I will do my relay in Ramsey, NJ at about 11am.  I still don’t have any info on my next load though.  Hope they find me something good getting out of the NE.

Everyone have a great day and God Bless!
